International Buyer

Moteo is part of the Alcopa group, a Belgian multinational family-owned holding with a combined turnover exceeding EUR 1.3 bn. Moteo imports and distributes a wide range of motorcycles, scooters, quads, mopeds, marine engines and their related genuine parts & accessories for its favored partners: Suzuki, Piaggio, Aprilia, Derbi, Peugeot, Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Sym. In addition Moteo is expanding its footprint in distribution of non-genuine parts and accessories. Distribution is carried out through subsidiary import companies serving a network of independent dealers in Belgium, France, Germany, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Switzerland, South Africa and Denmark. Moreover, Moteo has a wide range of partnerships in complementary regions such as South African continent, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Latin America. Moteo consistently records an annual turnover exceeding EUR 200m. Our offices are located in Kontich, near Antwerp.

As we are currently reinforcing our competences and professionalism in the non-genuine parts and accessories business, a growing segment for Moteo, we are continuously looking for strong profiles – both junior as well as senior – to reinforce our international procurement department of parts and accessories.

You will be part of an international team in close contact with the international product management team and several sales subsidiaries in Europe. You will translate the product strategy in an adequate sourcing and inventory strategy and be the sole contact with several suppliers in Europe, Asia and the U.S. responsible of the day-to-day supply chain for a highly complex set of references and technical products.

You have a strong drive to execute the following tasks and achieve the related objectives:

Role and responsibilities:

Sourcing and Inventory Management

o Daily follow-up of inventory levels and rotation by reference and by supplier, taking into account seasonality of our business and specific market trends and evolutions;

o Daily follow-up of service levels by reference and by supplier to identify stock breaks and backorders;
o Regular creation of stock purchase orders to replenish stock, and ad-hoc creation of urgent orders to rapidly service backorders and stock issues;
o Strict and pro-active follow-up of suppliers in terms of order reception, manufacturing shipping and arrival of goods to ensure lead times are kept and maintained correct in our ordering systems;

o Daily follow-up of product sales gross margins and proactively propose corrective actions to product management and sales (e.g. price changes);
o Continuous negotiation of supplier pricing using the most suitable negotiation techniques to obtain the most optimal product pricing in a highly competitive environment, while ensuring adequate quantity, quality, payment terms and transport conditions;

o Proactively make pragmatic proposals to improve the supply chain processes towards efficiency, quality and risk control;
o Support the launch of new product or references together with the international product management team;
o Keep a view on market and supplier claims, and support the solution with the respective suppliers and/or insurance or transport companies (supply chain service, warranty, invoices, retours, credits,…), and manage goods returns to suppliers

Stock administration

o Create and maintain supply chain data (supplier, product and product application data) in the purchase/inventory software;
o Cost price calculations;
o Frequent contact with transport companies and support of the warehouse in facilitating in-time goods receipt by creating inbound cases;
o Systematic check on supplier invoices and payments (together with bookkeeping);
o Update product delivery lead times in the system;

Profile

o You have a passion for business, either by education (e.g. bachelor or master) or by experience;
o You are creative, rigorous, proactive and autonomous;
o You are customer minded, result and- solution oriented;
o You have an analytical mind and like to put your analyses into action;
o You get a kick from obtaining results when you negotiate;
o You will quickly assimilate our own developed sourcing and stock management IT system, while MS Excel and other MS Office tools have no secrets to you;

o You feel at ease in an international setting;
o You are actively looking to work as part of a team, having a pivotal role between suppliers and the product management and sales teams in Moteo;
o You are fluent in English + Dutch and French. Other languages like German, Italian, Mandarin, are a plus;
o A technical background and/or an explicit interest in motorcycles, ATV and/or scooters is a definite plus;
o Previous experience in sourcing or supply chain is a plus;
