We have a 5-6 months rolling contract with areputed organization
Work location- Rotterdam- Remote job is possible
Rate- 400 GBP/Day- Outside ir35

Infrastructure & Network Expert

Responsibilities

• Managing and optimizing systems/network, so that adequate security and continuous availability of systems/network is guaranteed, and business operations are supported.
• Efficient and timely analysis of incidents

Activities

performing maintenance work on Servers, SAN, virtual environments
monitoring performance and capacity, taking measures to optimize them (including analysing and optimizing memory and storage capacity, log file management)

analysing problems in the field of infrastructure and advising the manager about measures to be taken
performing activities aimed at the security of systems and data (setting up monitoring, regulating access to data in production systems)
license and release management
implementing new application and OS releases
installing, configuring and testing (new) hardware (Servers) and software
analysing and solving malfunctions in the system
determining the nature and cause of incidents
prioritize order in process
solving (telephone or on-site) incidents and advising users
engaging and guiding (external) experts in 3rd line failures.
assess to what extent the system is in line with new developments and the wishes/requirements of users, researching possible alternatives
coordinate with internal and/or external parties whether desired adjustments are technically possible
formulating amendment proposals
translating new/desired system requirements into a description of technical specifications in collaboration with expert and involved departments
support with quotations and (co)selecting suppliers
adjusting (or having adapted) the system
(have) installed and (have) tested new/adapted system software/hardware
resolving system issues, resolving issues with suppliers
drawing up, testing and maintaining new and/or changed procedures
taking care of transfer to the user organization.
giving directions and information to and transferring knowledge to users
installing work environments for users
training and guiding users.
registering incidents and work performed
manage documentation regarding system/configuration
maintaining various overviews of system occupation and usage
preparation and maintenance of user documentation.
participating in the implementation of projects (in which it is often checked whether/to what extent new IT methods, techniques and resources are suitable for and can be applied within the organization) and thereby contribute to test and implementation activities.

working remotely is mandatory

Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of complex networks, Cisco network Switches and Firewalls, network automation.
industrial networking knowledge
Basic understanding of Monitor & Controls applications
Sound knowledge of information technology and software development
Knowledge of container terminal applications, specifically operations & planning
Fluent in Dutch and English, both in word and in writing

Experience/requirements

• At least 3 years' experience working in a similar role
• Experienced with fact based solving of technical incidents, issues and change in a complex landscape
• In possession of a driver's license category B
