Omschrijving

As a (Senior) Data Scientist you will act as an optimizer in the global planning process. Your responsibility will be to create / expand analytical decision support tools for global supply chain planning processes based on mathematical optimization. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining statistical forecast models and incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales and Supply Chain Management.

This position is an integration point for all issues concerning demand development regarding the whole operational planning and execution (raw material, production planning and sales planning).

In addition, this position develops and maintains metrics which accurate forecasting results in higher customer service level, reduced inventory and supports the production network optimization.

Your tasks as a (senior) data scientist will include:

• Development and expansion of analytical decision support tools for supply chain planning processes, based on mathematical optimization
• Data-driven modeling of supply chain processes to gain insights and identify optimization potential

Assessment of model requirements and constraints, engaging with various functions across plants and business units

• Support analytical and/or data management where highly specialized analytics or management of large amounts of data is required for the execution of supply chain processes, e.g., compliance, master data, quantitative process analyses etc.
• Leading of model implementation and maintenance in state-of-the-art tools for mathematical optimization
• Conduct optimization / simulation runs and set up complex business cases / TCO models, etc. based on model results
• Create statistical forecasts
• Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process
• Participation in demand planning (DP) report preparation
• Analyze customer demand and raw material consumption to identify supply-chain- efficiency-issues
• Evaluate operational supply chain plans combining forecasting and optimization methods
• Carry out supply network planning routines and support process standardization
• End to end ownership of the TNO(Tactical Network Optimizer) & SNO

Profiel van kandidaat

The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum 5 years of operational experience in Supply Chain and / or production forecasting. Additionally you have a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Technical and / or mathematical, e.g. Statistics/ probability / operations research / economics/ physics)

Additionally, you:

• Have emonstrated proficiency in statistics, probability, operations research & forecasting methods
• Have an extensive knowledge of optimization algorithm
• Have a proven track record in solving scientific and / or business problems with analytical solutions, particularly mathematical optimization
• Are able to work with large datasets and / or able to extrapolate datasets if the data is not large enough
• Are an advanced user of MS-Office
• Have knowledge of SAS for forecasting
• Are familiar with optimization tools (eg., AIMMS, Optano (strongly desired), GAMS with solver suites like CPLEX,
• Gurobi as well as Database Applications (Eg., SQL ..)
• Have a knowledge of scripting languages (Eg., Python, R, VBA, SSIS etc.,)
• Are an experienced user of SAP R3/ Oracle / JDA or any other ERP/ Software of demand planning module

Aanbod

A full time position with a fixed base salary plus bonus. The actual level of remuneration depends on skills and experience.
