Your job

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is super flexible in linking systems, something that few commercial solutions can match. How do we do that? Read on below if you want to work with us as an Integration Specialist. Very challenging, career opportunities and excellent work-life balance.

WUR's integration landscape is a modern solution based on microservices hosted in Kubernetes. Where possible, we use open source technology that we use in such a way that the whole is as robust and flexible as possible.

The integration platform consists of two main parts:
The Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) based on microservices built in C#/.net core where event-driven messages are exchanged via RabbitMQ. Gitlab is used for CI/CD and a combination of Splunk and Opensearch for monitoring

The service layer, a datastore based on Opensearch that is fed from the ESB so that the data can also be searched by customers via API
The combination of these two components makes us super flexible in linking systems, something that few commercial solutions can match. We are proud of this!

Additionally, we have implemented an Internet-of-Things solution for WUR using open-source components. With this solution, we receive data, distribute it (NATS), store it (PostgreSQL + TimescaleDB), and visualize the data (Grafana). This solution is very similar in architecture and methodology to the ESB. You will have plenty of opportunities to work on this as well.

As an Integration Specialist, you are responsible for analyzing, designing and developing links within the application architecture.
