About FGG

The Fair, Green and Global (FGG) Alliance consists of eight member organisations of which six are based in the Netherlands and two in South (-East) Asia (ActionAid, Both ENDS, Clean Clothes Campaign, IT for Change, Milieudefensie, Samdhana Institute, SOMO and the Transnational Institute). Together with civil society organisations (CSOs) and networks from all over the world we aim for socially just, inclusive and environmentally sustainable societies. In January 2021, the FGG Alliance entered its third five-year programme (FGG3), funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of their Power of Voices Strategic Partnerships framework.

As lead applicant of the FGG Alliance, Both ENDS will be responsible for your employment contract. Both ENDS works on the transition to a sustainable, social and just world, together with partner organizations in international networks that bring about systemic change. Both ENDS initiates and facilitates policy discussions between policymakers, our partner organizations and activists who are confronted with the consequences of international and Dutch trade policy, financing and climate policy.

About the position

A coordinator position has opened up within the FGG Alliance Coordination Team. Employed by Both ENDS,
the Alliance’s lead organisation, the FGG Coordination Team works to
facilitate
the collaboration between the Alliance members.

In more detail, the Alliance coordinators is in charge of:

Programme management:
The A
l
liance
’s
Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL);
Preparing and facilitating meetings at different levels within the Alliance;
Coordinating and drafting the yearly reporting
cycle
of the entire A
l
liance in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rules and regulations as well as
continuous
coordinating with the
Ministry
and relevant Dutch embassies;
Coordinating knowledge development and partner engagement of the FGG Alliance;

Strategy development:
Coordinating the process around defining the Alliance
’s strategy and vision for 2025-2030, and ensuring that this strategy feeds into relevant internal and external processes (I.e developing internal learning documents, thematic position papers, vision documents);

Facilitating strategy
development around key alliance-level themes such as Southern leadership, gender transformative approaches, and
fair and green practices
as an answer to the flaws in our current systems;

Networking:
Externally representing the FGG Alliance and communicating its story at relevant fora, events, (social) media outlets;
Foster relationships within the alliance and maintain/build strategic collaborations (
i.e.
governmental representatives);
You will be teaming up with the lead programme coordinator and a programme assistant. The exact division of tasks between the alliance coordinators depends on your experience and competencies, but we would particularly welcome applications from candidates with affinity for and experience in strategy development.

Your profile
What we’re looking for is
a strategic thinker with strong coordination skills

, who is able to facilitate meetings and processes in such a way that colleagues are motivated and energised. In addition, we’d like you to have:
Affinity with the vision, objectives, and thematic focus of our Alliance (experience working on (some of) the themes our Alliance works on would be an added value);

Strategic thinking and planning skills with experience in applying these in a complex and shifting development context;
Experience in strategy development;
An understanding of and experience with implementing PMEL systems (experience with coordinating an externally commissioned evaluation and IATI will be an added value);

Excellent team collaboration skills
;
Ability to build relations and communicate convincingly
;
Experience in working with civil society organisations
;
Ability to work and think creatively, independently, pro-actively;
The competence to learn quickly and navigate well in complex situations
;
Full professional proficiency in English and command of Dutch at level B1 or higher;
Ability to travel abroad (on average once a year).

We offer

A multitasking position in an informal, international working environment at the Both ENDS office in Utrecht, and on a regular basis at the offices of the other FGG Alliance members.

A gross salary of
€3088
and €4520 based on full-time employment (38 hours), depending on education and experience.
A 12-month contract for 32 hours per week, with the possibility of extension.
Good secondary employment conditions, such as a non-contributory pension, full travel expenses and a telephone and work from home allowance.
