The team is growing, and we’re looking for a visionary VP of Engineering to lead our technology efforts and build a world-class engineering team.

Role Overview

The VP of Engineering will be a key member of the executive team, driving the development and execution of our technical strategy. You will lead the engineering department in building and scaling the core platform, ensuring security and compliance in a highly regulated industry. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and leadership teams to bring our innovative credit card product to market.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the technical roadmap in alignment with the company’s vision and business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Define and manage engineering budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders (Product, Design, Data, Compliance) to align technology with business objectives.

Engineering Execution

  • Oversee the design, architecture, and development of our credit card platform, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Champion modern engineering practices such as DevOps, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Ensure that best-in-class security measures are in place to protect sensitive financial data and maintain compliance with financial regulations (PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.).
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team, keeping up-to-date with the latest fintech trends and technologies.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Product and UX/UI teams to deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences.
  • Communicate technical decisions and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party vendors and financial partners to ensure smooth integrations and collaborations.

Technical Vision & Innovation

  • Act as a thought leader in the FinTech space, driving the use of emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and machine learning where applicable.
  • Explore and experiment with new technologies and solutions to enhance the product offering and keep the company ahead of competitors.
  • Lead the engineering efforts to continuously enhance the credit card’s features, focusing on delivering value to customers through innovative technical solutions.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally at a high-growth startup or within FinTech or finance.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, large-scale consumer-facing products.
  • Deep knowledge of financial services, payment processing, or credit card platforms.
  • Experience leading and scaling engineering teams, with a passion for mentoring and growing talent.
  • Hands on experience working in a Typescript environment
  • Strong understanding of modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and scalable architectures (microservices, event-driven architecture).
  • Hands-on experience with security, privacy, and compliance standards, especially within the financial sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical and regulatory environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in launching a credit card or related FinTech product.
  • Familiarity with advanced payment technologies (e.g., tokenization, blockchain).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in credit risk, fraud detection, or financial decision-making.
  • MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus but not required.
