Data Analytics Consultant - Banking

Do you have deep knowledge and expertise in complex implementations of data-driven solutions and organisations, building data platforms & [self-service] analytical capabilities in a Cloud environment (Azure/AWS)? What all our customers have in common is that they need to modernize and streamline their customer services, product management, Compliance and Risk Management operations to keep up with what consumers and regulators expect and ensure their long term viability. You will work on assignments that help you develop further in line with your own skills and ambitions. The assignments take place at customer locations in the Randstad, with a focus on the Amsterdam region.

Your day-to-day activities

As an experienced Data Analytics Consultant you work with a high degree of independence and autonomy. You are responsible for translating business needs into end-to-end descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions, utilizing the latest technologies in cloud computing, risk, compliance & fraud software. You are comfortable and effective communicating with internal and external stakeholders and presenting solutions and findings to business and technical audiences. Together with a team of about 15 colleagues, you make the difference in assignments for your client. Together with your colleagues you have a primary focus on regulatory implementations in all business and IT disciplines and your work will include:

• Advise clients on suitable data-driven organizations, processes & IT solutions;
• Advising on the implementation of data solutions to meet existing and new regulatory

requirements and internal policies e.g. strengthening risk data quality and
streamlining credit risk scoring & credit authorization processes; leveraging
cross-BU data in client integrity assessment for KYC-CDD purposes; implementing
Sustainable Finance regulations and Taxonomy Regulation; implementing new ECB
guidelines for managing climate-related and environmental risks and for Sustainable
Finance Disclosure Regulation;

• Define the functional and technical requirements and work on the implementation of

cloud-based solutions to integrate / combine and analyze structured and non-SQL data
from multiple sources efficiently;

• Assess, challenge and optimize data solutions in the Compliance & Risk management

landscape – e.g.: data definitions & taxonomy, risk data models, integration and quality;
credit scoring model implementation; loan loss provisioning process; internal and external
reporting process;

• Analyze and further align Credit Risk and Finance data landscape and procedures

concerning data architecture / data integration / data governance, Risk & Financial
reporting processes;

• Working in an Agile environment with mixed teams of CGI and client resources incl.

business consultants, software engineers, data architects and specialists;

• Design training programs and training materials and deliver training and education in the

context of new Risk Management policies, procedures and / or tooling.

What you need to be successful in this role

As an experienced Data Analytics Consultant you have used (Azure) Cloud native tools and worked with data engineers, data scientists and business experts across key data-intensive areas of the banking sector – Credit Risk, Transaction Monitoring, Ongoing Customer Due Diligence, Fraud Prevention, Customer Service, ALM & Finance.

You have helped Financial Services-firms transition capabilities to the cloud and address data issues head on, incl. establishing a robust data architecture, driving cross-BU data & modelling integration, enabling the point of origination to take responsibility for and safeguard data quality, working across business & IT to implement data governance, driving process automation and leveraging data analytics to reduce risk, improve efficiency and meet strategic and regulatory requirements.

You have experience with executing data-driven operating model improvements in core banking operations e.g. removing manual inefficiencies and improving governance through automation; improving data management with new processes and dedicated data management teams.

Further you have:

• Master and / or PhD degree in Business & Data Analytics, Econometrics or another

relevant discipline;

• You are skilled in SAS / R / Python / Anaconda, Spark/ Hadoop/ Hive/ Beam and you have

strong technical affinity with industry-leading data analytics solutions.

• Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage;
• At least 5 years of work experience as an external consultant or in an internal advisory /

line management role at a financial institution.
