PACCAR Parts Europe (PPE) reports to the PACCAR Parts Division, Renton US. PPE works closely with DAF Trucks in Europe to grow the sales of spare parts to over 1,000 DAF dealers, TRP stores and customers around the world. To satisfy our customers’ ‘one stop shop’ requirement, PACCAR Parts sells DAF and PACCAR branded parts for DAF truck applications and TRP branded parts for other manufacturers of trucks, semi-trailers and workshop items. PPE has employees in all major European markets and PACCAR Distributions Centers (PDC) in Eindhoven, Leyland, Madrid, Budapest and Moscow. This internship will be part of the Market Intelligence & Business Development department, which is responsible for performing market research and competitor analysis to identify new market and business opportunities for PPE. The department consists of a team of motived and innovative professionals, who create and implement new business tools for our dealer network as well as develop existing and new parts sales channels. The overall goal is to have an in-depth understanding of the parts- and transport market, so that we can identify opportunities and threats and take appropriate actions that make PPE resilient and competitive.

Function description

To support senior management decision making with the right data and insights, we develop and maintain a large amount of reports that provide insights in (dealer) performances as well as macro economic trends. However, next to the Market Intelligence & Business Development department, there are several other departments within PPE that also create and deliver multiple reports. The goal of this internship is to analyze the various reports and reporting structures across the PPE organization and provide insights and feedback on how we can organize the different reporting activities in a more effective and efficient way. One of the first steps will be to get to know the different departments and people, to map the different reports being shared and identify overlap in either target group, output, database usage, etc.

Function Requirements

For this internship we are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious student, with an affinity for business, data, and marketing. We are open to various (educational) backgrounds, but most likely a background in industrial engineering, business information systems, and/or marketing will provide the best match with the assignment. You are an analytical thinker, who is able to understand both the bigger picture and the small details. You can think from a user perspective, are a good listener, pro-active in overcoming challenges, and strive for the best possible results that add value for PPE. Ideally, you have experience with data processing and tools like SQL, Access, MS Reporting Services and the usual Microsoft programs. Fluent in English is a must, speaking Dutch is a pre.
