Are you a driven innovator in biopharmaceutical manufacturing? Join Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden as an Equipment Engineer! In this role, you'll handle routine and unique tasks, using your knowledge to improve projects and processes. Work independently while teaming up with colleagues in the Cell Culture Center of Expertise to improve cell culture systems, prevent contamination, and drive excellence. Your strong communication skills will be key in addressing issues and risks. We're looking for a dedicated professional committed to high standards of efficiency and independent judgment, all while delivering life-changing medicines. Join us and make an impact! You will be responsible for: * Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) through regular reviews of work and documentation of equipment processes and procedures. * Leading an Asset Team to maintain up-to-date asset data, swiftly identifying issues and signalling asset replacement needs as part of the annual update of the 5-year plan. Also support the introduction of new equipment/systems. * Analyze root causes of equipment failures and inefficiencies by collaborating with Troubleshooters and Operations team to develop strategies that minimize downtime and losses. * Conduct Gemba walks to review the accurate use of equipment by manufacturing operators, driving balanced improvements in safety, quality, reliability, cost, and scheduling. * Serve as the expert on contamination prevention within a multidisciplinary team, guiding standard processes and encouraging a culture of vigilance to ensure product integrity and safety. * Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by crafting training programs and promoting trusting and inclusive relationships within the team. Qualifications / Requirements: * University Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology or a related field * Professional English proficiency (C2 level) required with Dutch proficiency (B2 Level) desirable. * Knowledge of GMP requirements and upstream processing operations * Familiar with MS Office, Teams, and various business applications. * Positive, proactive, organized, and able to work both independently and as a team. * Maintains calmness under pressure and demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and quality in work. * Proactively addresses issues, takes ownership for outcomes, and employs analytical skills to identify gaps and develop solutions * Maintains stakeholder alignment, and fosters meaningful connections with customers while encouraging transparent feedback and collaboration. #RPOAMS
