Proposal Engineer

As a Proposal Engineer, you will leverage your technical and commercial expertise to develop and optimize large international proposals, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions for their clients.

What are you going to do?

As a Proposal Engineer at DMT Environmental Technology you are responsible for the technical and commercial handling of sales activities. These activities are diverse and can include long-term processes requiring extensive consultation, punctuality, and perseverance. Together with the team, you deliver technically priced solutions, where initiative, critical attitude, and problem-solving skills are key to success.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Provide the Sales, Services, and Business Development departments with accurate designs and proposals
• Prepare flow diagrams and layouts, conduct process and price calculations, and liaise with suppliers
• Act as a "spider in the web," working closely with departments such as Engineering, Operations, and Finance
• Gather and combine information from various departments to achieve better results and improve the company's market position
• Share technical knowledge with potential clients, clarify demands, and inventory relevant factors influencing progress and results
• Serve as the technical expert in sales meetings, collaborating with Area Sales Managers and the Service Manager to close deals
• Ensure continuous improvement of department tools and processes
• Shape the future towards sustainable standard modular configurations during the sales phases

Profile

As a Proposal Engineer, you have a broad technical interest and are capable of working independently as well as in a team. You maintain a positively critical attitude in all your tasks and always strive for the best results. You see challenges in optimizing the commercial proposals and solutions that DMT offers to its clients.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field of study
• 2-10 years of international experience in a similar role within process or mechanical engineering (preferably in the gas or oil sector or other industrial installations), where you have worked on larger rotating parts such as compressors, pumps, and process systems
• You possess broad technical product knowledge (mainly process, mechanical, and electrical) to find the most attractive solutions for customers
• Experience and proficiency in reading and interpreting diagrams, drawings, and blueprints to ensure accuracy and clarity for both the sales team and customers
• Enthusiastic about learning new software programs, such as simulation and calculation software for biogas upgrading facilities, and becoming familiar with DMT’s ERP system ISAH and CRM system Sage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel, and Visio, or willingness to learn
