Thesis Intern at AI for Fintech Research

With millions of customers and thousands of employees worldwide, software and data analytics are at the heart of ING's business and operations. To support the ongoing transformation of the bank, ING has teamed up with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) to set up the AI for Fintech Research (AFR) lab. Here we combine our knowledge and expertise on the use of artificial intelligence in the financial industry. The lab’s mission is to carry out world-class research on artificial intelligence, data analytics and software analytics in the context of financial technology. AFR seeks to develop new AI-driven theories, methods and tools in large-scale data and software analytics.

Job Description

As a Thesis Intern, you will be joining ING’s Analytics global organization and will partner with Machine Learning engineers and data scientists to do research in the development and delivery of leading-edge analytical products. We are looking for a passionate Master student to do research in the domain of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and/or Information Retrieval. The thesis topic will be defined in consultation with the student and thesis supervisor.

• You are a naturally collaborative person who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals.
• You have a Pro-active and can-do attitude (self-steering)
• You are happy to work together with machine learning engineers and data scientist on the state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and their application in real life.
• You have a good knowledge in Python programming.

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

Required:

• Good knowledge of machine Learning
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

• Published paper in the domain of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing or Information retrieval
