Application Engineer in Chip Design Automation
 
As Application Engineer you will become an expert in using highly specialized software for physical design verification of semiconductors

and in that role:

Create customer specific setups for the verification software (a combination of GUI work and scripts in Python)

Work with the R&D team to improve the software and solve problems if they arise

give training and/or presentations on setups to customers

Work with marketing/sales to demonstrate the software to potential customers
 
Good communication in English is required, as well as analytical skills and a pragmatic attitude. Preferably you have some experience in the semiconductor field, through education or work. A suitable background should be an academic level in either Electronics, Informatics, Mathematics or Physics.

 
Being able and willing to travel to the USA and Asia is a must (because some clients do not allow remote support). Since some travel is as individual, independence is necessary. Experience with Linux and Python is required.

Academic level or Higher Vocational in Electronics, Informatics, Mathematics or Physics

Strong analytical mind, problem solving skills

Independent, confident and communicative in English

Willing and able to travel to the Americas and Asia, several times per year

Knowledge of Linux and Python. General software development knowledge is a plus

Candidates must have a residential and work permit

The ideal candidate has several years working experience in a professional environment
