Teamlead Operations Global Forwarding

We are looking for a hands-on, team-oriented
teamlead operations
to join our dynamic team within the air and ocean transportation sector, supporting our automotive and fashion & lifestyle customers. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing daily operations, ensuring smooth workflows, and meeting customer and organizational objectives. As a key player in a team of approximately 12 professionals, you will actively contribute to creating a high-performance culture by fostering collaboration, efficiency, and accountability. In this role you will be involved with all aspects of transport, from import export, you will be involved in all aspects related to Air, Ocean, Rail and Road. You define your operations roadmap and can function very independent and make decisions to stimulate our site’s growth ambitions. What will you do?

• Act as a hands-on leader, working closely with team members to address operational challenges and ensure smooth communication with colleagues.
• Entrepreneurial determine best business opportunities for the site.
• Oversee and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient handling of air and ocean freight shipments. You support the team in daily commercial decision making.
• Determine purchasing/sales rates.
• Foster a team culture of accountability, mutual respect, and commitment to organizational goals and strategic planning.
• Identify areas for improvement and propose actionable solutions to drive productivity and operational excellence. You focus on IT optimalisation of our processes.
• Serve as a point of contact for operational queries, providing clear and timely updates to customers and partners, driving relationship building.
• Ensuring implementation of new business.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to maintain the site’s competitive edge in the air and ocean transportation market.

 

What are we looking for?

• We prefer a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Equivalent work experience will be considered as well
• 3-5 years maximal in logistics, transportation, or supply chain or operations.
• Proficiency with logistics management software(Cargowise), track & trace SW, and MS Office Suite, Excel is a must.
• Strong knowledge of air and ocean freight regulations.
• Pragmatic, proactive teamplayer.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.

About the Global Forwarding branch in Schiphol

The Ewals Cargo Care branch at Schiphol offers its customers continental and intercontinental logistics solutions. This concerns road, sea, train and air freight.

To this end, we work together with a few exclusively selected partners. Together, deliveries of shipments to, and delivery of shipments in, all countries in the world are guaranteed.

We mainly focus on what is called “Supply Chain Solutions” in the jargon: total solutions, door-to-door, developed in consultation with customers.
