Head of Assembly Department

In this challenging position, you will be ultimately responsible for everything that happens within the assembly department. This means:

• Recording/discussing work with customer and preparing work on site.
• Direct and in consultation with the work planners assign people to jobs (planning).
• Making sure everyone is classified as efficiently as possible.
• Accounting and monitoring of hours worked.
• Oversee safety and quality procedures and all other technical aspects.
• Leading all on-site assembly operations, e.g. plant shutdowns/revisions at companies such as Tata Steel, Bunge, Cargill, Tate & Lyle.

You will be technically and financially responsible for the projects and report directly to management. You will work closely with the manufacturing department to ensure that all parts arrive on site in a timely and correct manner.

Where will you work?
You will be working through demt-flex at a growing company in metal technology in Heemskerk. This company is a high-quality welding company specializing in pipe work, construction work and machine maintenance. They work for medium to heavy industries, such as steel and oil companies, drinking water companies, food and pharmaceuticals. 🌍

What do we ask?

• A completed metal education at the college level, preferably mechanical engineering.
• Extensive experience in a similar position, especially in construction work, piping and machine maintenance.
• In possession of a driver's license B(E) and a VCA-VOL certificate.
• Familiarity with large, industrial companies such as Tata Steel is a plus.
• A high degree of responsibility for the safety and quality of the work performed.
• Reliability, representativeness, good commercial and communication skills.
• Flexibility and no 9-to-5 mentality.
• Willingness to attend relevant training/courses.
• Preferably living within a 35 km radius of Heemskerk, but living further away is also no problem!
