Team Lead - Mechanical Development

Introduction to the JobASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. The mission of the Mechanical Development department is to design and develop the complex mechanics for these machines, which are some of the highest precision products ever produced in the world. This position is based on-site in Veldhoven.As a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will lead a team of 5-10 engineers and/or co-developers responsible for the development of portions of the lithography system and/or associated tooling. You will work on sub-systems involving robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics and/or opto-mechanics.Role and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an individual with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering, including taking responsibility of the full “art to part” development cycle. A background in mechanical design of mechatronics or precision design is desirable, as well as good complex mechanical system intuition.As a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will:Be an expert planner who maximize available resources to meet challenging schedules and deliver the highest qualityUnderstand the functional requirements and deriving specificationsCollaborate with architects in a multidiscipline project team to develop concepts, perform engineering analysis, build and test prototypes, generate detailed CAD designs, create engineering drawings, partner with suppliers and support system integration and testingAlign with project management, manufacturing, logistics, procurement, supply chain, customer support and other cross-sector team membersLead your team to design mechanical components of modulesAlign with your multi-disciplinary Project Leader to meet quality, schedule and cost constraintsEnsure the design achieves a trouble-free product lifecycle via optimized configuration management, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, operation and customer service environmentsEducation and ExperienceTo help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you will need experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes.As a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead, you will need:Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.3+ years of experience with complex and/or precision mechanical designAbility to communicate effectively in the English languageMechanical design exposure to kinematics, dynamics, material properties and behavior and structural analysisExperience with 3D solid modelling for design conceptualization and realizationBasic Experience with Mechanical analytical techniques, including “first principle” engineering equations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) (e.g. stress, strain, deformation, modal response, etc.)Demonstrated ability to derive conclusions from analysis and make practical recommendationsPrior experience leading teams and planning for deliverablesStrong technical writing, communication and presentations skillsSkillsTo thrive in this job, you will need the following skills:Can learn and apply new information or skillsAbility to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracyProven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloadsResult driven-demonstrate ownership and accountabilityIdentifies bottlenecks and drives improvementsWork independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervisionAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and customerWork according to a strict set of procedures within the provided timelinesOther InformationThis position is located on-site in Veldhoven. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovationA flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to 2 days a week)Need to know more about applying for a job at ASML?
