People are becoming increasingly aware of the influence of their living environment on their health. They spend 90% of their time indoors: at home, at work, at school, in healthcare and other buildings. Air quality, thermal comfort, visual comfort and acoustic comfort all play a role in this experience. In addition, other themes that influence people's well-being, such as greenery and accessibility. We have various subjects belonging to this theme where research is desired to improve the health and wellbeing in buildings. 🌿

What you will do as a(n) (graduation)intern

The aim of this research is to further develop the current approaches for consultancy of healthy building projects. In order to improve standards and building design, research is needed to map out the current situation and the effects of improvements. This requires information from practice, measurements and surveys, but also literature research and simulations to provide new insights.

What you bring as a(n) (graduation)intern

You are a bachelor or master student in the field of building engineering who has a strong affinity with health and wellbeing in and around buildings and skills in research, innovation, data and diverse software. Moreover, you are keen to experience the working environment in an engineering consultancy firm.

You will become part of the Advisory Group Acoustics & Building Physics. This team consists of around 25 colleagues and is based in the Netherlands across three offices (Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Amsterdam). As a team, we excel in a wide variety of services and skills in the fields of human comfort and energy performance. We provide our clients, both private and (semi)governmental, with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: inception, master planning, feasibility, concept to technical design and construction supervision. During your internship you will be supported by this team.
