For a global retailer headquartered at Schiphol I am looking for a General Ledger Accountant. This holding company consists of several high-end retailers that are active throughout the Netherlands and on a global level. Tasks and responsibilities
Responsible for Balance Sheet Holding entities and Supply Chain entity and timely reporting of month-end results
Prepare sub consolidation, equity movement and IC elimination schedules for NL Holding entities
Maintain accurate accounting for intercompany transactions at entity level
Perform VAT return preparation activities from SAP Data generation to return filing, liaise and work closely together with Group Tax VAT manager across the entire compliance process.
Ensure timely payment of VAT to the tax authorities
Prepare and maintain reconciliation of the VAT general ledger accounts and banks for European VAT positions
Identify, review and implement VAT-compliance efficiency and optimization opportunities, train and guide and maintain awareness of AP-staff in tax code selection
Support group tax in the correspondence with the tax authorities
Support Group Tax in the preparation of documentation in case of tax audits and other requests
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Approx. 5 years of relevant GL Accountant experience in a shared service centre environment/ multi-national environment with exposure to VAT compliance
High level of energy and ambition to realise a positive impact.
High level of integrity
Good communication skills
Experience with working in a multi-national environment
Pro-active and strong team player but not afraid to challenge
