Your Role The Lead Instrumentation Designer is responsible for translating complex technical challenges into practical and effective instrumentation solutions. This role involves developing detailed drawings and documentation that guide the E/I installer in executing designs. The position includes working on a diverse range of projects, from large-scale multidisciplinary offshore, wind, and onshore energy projects to multiple smaller but equally demanding assignments. Key Responsibilities Instrumentation Design: Develop and produce instrumentation design drawings and technical documentation. System Development: Design complete fire, gas detection, and security systems, as well as process control and telecommunication systems. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated and optimized designs. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with classification society regulations and industry design codes. Software Utilization: Utilize software tools such as Smart Plant Instrumentation and AutoCAD for design tasks. Team Leadership: Lead and guide project teams, ensuring smooth execution of design processes. Project Management: Maintain a high-level overview (helicopter view) to manage multiple project requirements effectively. What they're looking for Education: A secondary vocational education (MBO) qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience: At least five years of experience in instrumentation design within the engineering industry. Software Skills: Proficiency in Smart Plant Instrumentation and AutoCAD (preferred). Project Expertise: Experience with substation projects is highly advantageous. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of classification society regulations and industry design codes. Language Skills: Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Leadership & Communication: Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Work Approach: A proactive, structured, and team-oriented mindset, capable of taking ownership of projects.
