Iribov Iribov is a leading laboratory that performs services in the field of plant propagation and breeding. The main activities are tissue culture propagation of plants and various analyses of plants. Iribov has extensive expertise in more than 500 crops in both floriculture, fruit and vegetable crops. Iribov has a strong international market position as an independent supplier. With laboratories in the Netherlands, Macedonia and Ghana, Iribov is an international organization with a total of more than 500 employees. In 2022, approximately 50 million tissue culture plants will be produced.

Job description As part of our growth strategy we have a vacancy for an researcher within the Analytical Services R&D team. The team is engaged in research for the development of ploidy determinations, pollen vitality, molecular plant pathogen tests, and markers for genotyping. You will conduct research to develop new and optimize protocols for ploidy determinations and pollen vitality in

a wide array of (horticultural) crops, furthermore you have affinity with the working of a flow cytometer. Focus
of the work will be on further development of existing protocols and further automation. Next to working in the
analytical lab, you will also be able to maintain flow cytometers. Furthermore, you manage your projects
efficiently, independently, and report on project progress to the manager R&D of the analytical lab.

Profile In order to fulfil this challenging position, we are looking for a team member that has:

• Obtained a BSc or MSc in the field of molecular biology, nanobiology, life sciences, agriculture, or

biotechnology;

• Has some years of experience with flow cytometry or molecular techniques preferably with plants;
• Has a keen eye for technology and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary area;
• Has affinity with the mechanics of a flow cytometer;
• Has a result-oriented attitude and are able to organize your work;
• Who is able to work independently as well as part of a team and has good communication skills, both

written and oral;

• is preferably proficient in the Dutch language.
