Your opportunity

As a
Naval Architect
, you will be
involved in the proposal stage
and control the design further in the engineering and production stages. You will translate the client requirements and
verify concept design
by using your theoretical naval architecture knowledge, making ship design calculations,
controlling the weight, and checking hydrostatic properties.
As you will be involved in the concept design you will have a major contribution to the performance of the vessel and you will be able to
participate in the inclining tests
to check that everything works as expected.

What you will do

Perform calculations

such as stability, weight, and hydrostatics

• Analyze and control

weight balance and stability boundaries

• Be accountable for class approval of the

stability booklet

Cooperate with other departments

to accomplish a fully integrated design

Advise on weight and stability

in each engineering phase from concept design to production

Liaise with classification societie

s to ensure a smooth cooperation

Participate in inclining tests and surveys

to verify aspects like ship weight and center of gravity

What you already have

• BSc. or

MSc

. degree in a

Naval Architecture

• Experience in

lightship weight and hydrostatic calculation

• Available for working 

full-time in Vlissingen

Excellent communication skills and fluent English

, so you can communicate efficiently with your multi-cultural team

• Willingness to perform a

background check

EU citizenship

 is a must, due to the nature of the military projects
