Job description
As a Clerk to the HoKa Workgroup, you act as an administrative support to a group of people dealing with the HoKa investments in the UC. You communicate with policymakers, take minutes, and schedule meetings so that the Council is correctly involved in supervising the investments at the university. For this task, the candidate must have excellent organization skills. Additionally, any background knowledge on public administration and the governance structure of the university is a plus.
As a minute-taker, you will carefully write down the conversations that take place in different meetings, such as Plenary and Consultation meetings of the UC. The meetings can be up to three hours long, and thus, it is important to have the capacity to focus for long periods of time. For taking notes, the candidate must have good writing skills, and the capacity to make structured summaries of long and loaded discussions within the UC. Additionally, the candidate must have great communicative skills to clarify difficult discussion points, ask questions when necessary, and discuss with the Clerk any important issues related to the minutes. The minutes must be processed two-business days after each meeting, so the candidate must be readily available to work, especially on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Requirements
- Excellent communicative skills (writing, speaking) in English. Dutch would be a plus, but it is not a requirement
- Flexible hours of working and time management skills (besides your regular load of studies, you must be available to the Council for 14-16 hours a week)
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to focus for long periods of time
- Being a student at EUR (BA2, BA3, or Master student)
- Organizational experience (for instance, participation in boards or committees)
- Knowledge of the governance structure of the EUR
Fixed-term
contract: 01.09.2022 - 31.08.2023.
The conditions of employment comply with the ‘CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten/Collective Agreement Netherlands Universities (CAO NU)’. Salary will be within the range of SA salary scales (€ 2.402 to € 2.611 gross per month fulltime), with a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end payment of 8.3%.
