Manager Production Planning

Smurfit Kappa Paper Services [SKPS] is part of the Smurfit Kappa Group, an international organization with 370 facilities in 35 countries and more than 46.000 employees. As legal entity SKPS has developed over the years into a multi-purpose service unit with several departments, providing Sales, Supply Chain, IT and

Financial services. Supply Chain ensures paper availability for sales to customers via production planning of paper mills and mill stock management.
As a result of expansion of the activities in Roermond we are looking for a Manager Production Planning who is responsible for managing the Production Planning team with a primarily focus on meeting all customer demands. You are end-to-end accountable for all logistical processes to ensure paper availability, output and

maintaining stock levels to enable timely delivery to the customer. These objectives must be met while simultaneously focusing on quality of products and cost effectiveness. You report directly to the Supply Chain Director Recycled.

Main Tasks/Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective production planning of all recycled paper machines in Europe;
• Ensure paper availability to fully service customer requirements and demands;
• Evaluate and maintain stock levels in this Make-to-Stock environment;
• Identify and implement process improvements throughout the Production Planning;
• Ensure flexibility and backup capacity between Production Planners;
• Continuous focus on team and people development by leading by example by inspiring, supporting and coaching of the Production Planners;
• Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders;
• Facilitate and stimulate an environment for continuous improvement;
• Drive problem solving;
• Set norms, standards and drive process adherence;
• Main drivers: Quality, Flexibility, Delivery Performance, Customer Satisfaction, Cost Effectiveness, People Engagement;
• Stimulate effective and efficient collaboration with other departments;
• Process demand information of Sales Offices/Supply Chain Back Office;
• Adapt data of the monthly forecast in SAP and ensure an accurate production schedule;
• Xtrim and SAP/SCM key user.

Key

• Bachelor or Master Degree (Logistics, Supply Chain);
• A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience ;
• SAP experience (ECC6, SCM) is required;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills [Languages: English/Dutch/German];
• You must be very accurate and enjoy problem solving;
• Able to work under pressure as well as flexible hours when operational challenges occur;
• Candidate must be a team player and enjoy working in an international environment;
• Self-motivated with strong leadership and organisational skills and the ability to prioritize own workload.
