At Forexx we are looking to elevate you career to a next level and this opportunity might be yours to take. Join our client's team as an Senior Automation Engineer. You'll ensure the construction of cutting-edge naval vessels with fully operational automated systems, meeting strict regulations.

Your role involves developing automation concepts for complex processes, covering a wide range of onboard systems. Depending on the vessel’s configuration, your design may include strategic defensive systems. Collaborate in our 3DExperience engineering environment following the V-model, ensuring thorough review and verification of designs. Join us to contribute to the launch of new naval vessels, defending freedom worldwide!

Responsibilities

• Develop the functional descriptions and other basic engineering documents and drawings of the automated processes of the ship’s systems.
• Develop and maintain specification documents of all automation components and installation processes.
• Write detailed test- and validation plans to ensure compliancy with Class regulations and to meet customer requirements during virtual testing (simulations) and real-world testing (FAT, HAT, SAT).
• Manage vendors and subcontractors to get their timely contribution to the project.
• Review of vendors and subcontractors design and implement this in the vessels design.
• Develop and describe standards and working methods for detailed engineering and commissioning.
• Provide support in proposal stages by developing conceptual designs of system automation.
• Offer technical support or commissioning activities to projects under contract.

About you

Education

To excel in this role a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline is required.

Experience

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following professional experiences and achievements:

• 5+ years’ experience with designing and installing complex automation systems (PLC/SCADA), preferably in maritime, offshore or industrial installations.
• Professional experience working in complex projects, comprised of multidisciplinary sub-teams and multiple suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience working in a model-based system engineering environment (MBSE) according to the V-model.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
