Job description Do you bridge Medicine, math and IT into the future?Health care is changing to Personalized Predictive Preventive and Participatory (P4) medicine. The future of medicine requires the integration of the triangle of medicine, math and IT.ORTEC Health develops software applications for medical care and (bio)medical research: the LogiqSuite medical data management system, clinical decision-making tools, and applications for medical workflow support and scientific research. These applications cover a broad area of medicine, such as cardiovascular medicine (most notably U-Prevent), oncology, lung disease and various other disciplines (e.g., rheumatology, obstetrics, toxicological prediction models).In ORTEC Health, experts in medical science and clinical care cooperate with experts in math (data science; artificial intelligence) and software development (front-end, back-end, dev-ops) to make cutting edge new solutions for P4 medicine. Since our team is expanding and likely to expand further, the candidate does not need to be a specialist in all tasks but should be able to bridge the medical field with math and IT with strong knowledge of the medical area.Main tasks:Implementation and customization of our medical care and/or science applications in close collaboration with academic partners and medical specialists.Write scripts for data migration (ETL) from customer databases into LogiqSuite.Coding for data cleaning and re-structuring to prepare data for analysis.Set-up standardized processes and write scripts for automation to empower scalability among projects.Optional additional tasks:Write software requirements for (bio)medical applications.Data stewardship in research consortiums.Test new software applications and functionality (LogiqSuite, U-Prevent and various biomedical applications).Close collaboration with the software development team during development of new requirements and testing of new functionality.Collaborate on development of data science algorithms for clinical decision support with medical specialists and data science experts.Supporting CE marking of clinical-decision support tools. Who you are To expand the ORTEC Health team for Clinical Care and Research, we are looking for a Medior Medical Data Scientist with programming experience and the following qualifications:Verifiable deep and broad knowledge of (bio)medical research.Proficient in various programming languages (Python, C++ and/or F# are a pre).Thorough knowledge in informatics, mathematics, physics, or engineering.Holds a PhD in a relevant biomedical discipline.Understands the complexity of medical data and data structuring.Hands on experience with medical data science: coding for data cleaning, structuring, and analysis.Ability to work in multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication skills with medical researchers as well as with data scientists and software developers.Preferably extended with the following: Affinity with data structuring for medical research and/or clinical careAffinity and experience with software programming and standardizationAffinity and experience with writing software requirementsAffinity with atmosphere in medical practice and researchAffinity with client relationships and project implementationAffinity with certification and CE marking of clinical decision software applications or related processes.
