At Cannibale Royale, it’s all about top-quality meat, a raw edge, and a high-energy atmosphere—and the same goes for our organization. Our HR team works every day to build a strong foundation and implement smart improvements, ensuring everything behind the scenes runs as smoothly as it does on the restaurant floor. As HR Manager, you will lead the HR Advisor, HR Officer, and Recruiter. The groundwork is solid, and it’s your job to ensure HR policies and processes continue to run seamlessly. You’ll also work closely with the HR Manager of our sister company, tackling shared HR topics and elevating HR to the next level together.

Your role as HR Manager:

You are the driving force behind HR policy at Cannibale Royale, ensuring the continued professionalization of our HR department. The foundation is in place, but you are always looking for ways to improve. You act as a strategic sparring partner while also handling complex HR issues. You collaborate with the HR Advisor, HR Officer, and Recruiter, who support you in execution.

Your key responsibilities:

Absenteeism & reintegration

  • Managing the absenteeism process, developing reintegration plans, and guiding complex cases.

Code of conduct & personnel affairs

  • The HR Advisor handles first-line inquiries, while you take on more complex cases, such as formal warnings, conflict resolution, and termination processes.

Strategic training & development

  • Contributing to training policy and setting strategic directions for talent development.

Payroll & labor agreements

  • Ensuring accurate payroll processing, labor agreement updates, and salary adjustments in collaboration with the HR team. You will also consult with owners on salary developments and labor laws.

Recruitment & employer branding

  • Overseeing the Recruiter and contributing strategically to recruitment processes and employer branding.

Performance & appraisal reviews

  • Coordinating the review process, ensuring effective follow-up, and developing reward systems to motivate and retain employees.

HR policy & strategic optimization

  • Ensuring that HR policies and processes remain well-structured while translating company objectives into a strong strategic HR framework.

Meetings & collaboration

  • Preparing quarterly meetings for business managers and strategic HR meetings with owners, reporting directly to the director. You will work closely with the HR team to make this happen.

Who are you?

  • At least 4 years of all-round HR experience, including 2 years in an advisory role, and ready for your next step as a decision-maker.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law, absenteeism management, and collective labor agreements.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset, always looking for optimization opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to switch smoothly between operational and strategic levels.
  • Affinity with hospitality, understanding the dynamics of a flexible and operational work environment.
  • Living in Amsterdam or the surrounding area.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
