As a former field hockey player, I always aimed for the highest performance and to get the most out of each moment and situation. After two years of playing field hockey abroad and travelling different places, I did a master’s degree in International Business. Then I started working at a start-up but after a year I realized that I was looking for a more corporate work environment. Most important drivers were to work in a team, to have international opportunities, to have a steep learning curve and to have a high performing and dynamic environment, which I found at BearingPoint.

BearingPoint is a big consultancy firm in Europe but has a relatively small office in the Netherlands with the aim to grow. Everyone knows each other personally and there are a lot of opportunities to develop yourself in a broad range of projects and areas. Here you will find a corporate and professional environment with impactful projects.

My first project was a big implementation project, where I learned about all aspects required to run these kinds of projects. After six months I started a new project in the automotive industry. The question was to set up a target operating model for self-driving cars, helping the client to create a transformation roadmap and gain insight into the investment required. With extensive research, several workshops, a detailed assessment, and discussions with the business, we were able to set up the intended business model. A very innovative and dynamic project with a global reach.

I really enjoy being a consultant and working for BearingPoint. It’s a great place to develop myself professionally and there is a personal approach and appreciation for your work. You get a lot of responsibility from the start and an entrepreneurial mindset is encouraged, which gives everyone a lot of opportunities and freedom. On top of that, there are a lot of social initiatives such as team activities, sporting events and drinks.
