One of the responsibilities of the System Engineering department within our Naval Engineering unit is the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for navy vessels and their integration with sensor and weapons systems. These complex systems incorporate advanced solutions in the field of information processing, information management, user interaction and sensor and weapons control. As such, our software offers essential support for missions ranging from combating piracy to defense against long-range missiles.

For its Naval System Engineering department, Thales (Hengelo) is looking for a talented Team Manager F126 IVVQ Engineering with a passion for system development and the ambition to advance his or her career within a high-tech systems environment in a management role.

About the team

As Team Manager IVVQ you manage a team responsible for the software Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification in the F126 segment. The F126 Segment develops and delivers full system integration for one of the largest Mission System programs within Thales. A team consists typically of 25-35 (junior, medior and senior) integration & test engineers and works according to a well pre-defined integration and test strategy.

About your future job

• A Team Manager within Thales is key in the support, servant leading and guidance of our main assets: our people. Strategies are being developed top-down and bottom-up; the team manager plays a role to connect, align, explain and inspire. We expect our team managers to coach and facilitate teams and maximize the talents within their teams.
• The last three years the System Engineering department has grown significantly in size. The challenge for the coming period is to grow the team maturity in domain knowledge and to develop competences, with focus on operational performance of teams and people. You are responsible for the individual performance of your team members, to enable the team to meet project objectives in relation to customer value, quality, time and budget.
• You will be part of the Management Team of the F126 Segment and the System Engineering Discipline. Our management culture is based on trust, transparency and excellence. Together with the other team managers you are responsible for the overall department results. You contribute to and play an important part in setting up and executing our strategic plans and initiate process improvements.

• Has a BSc or MSc degree.
• Communicates efficiently in English, both verbally and written.
• German knowledge is a strong plus given the end-customer.

Bij onze opdrachtgever voer je het eerste gesprek op locatie of online. Dit gesprek draait om het leren kennen van de organisatie, het team en de specifieke eisen van de functie. Een mooie kans om jezelf te presenteren en meer te ontdekken over jouw potentiële nieuwe werkplek.

Tweede gesprek
In het tweede gesprek bij de opdrachtgever gaan jullie dieper in op de inhoud van de functie, jouw rol in het team en wederzijdse verwachtingen. Dit gesprek kan ook gebruikt worden om praktische zaken, zoals arbeidsvoorwaarden of een mogelijke startdatum, te bespreken. Soms maak je ook kennis met meer teamleden of leidinggevenden om een compleet beeld te krijgen.

Aanbod
Als alle gesprekken positief zijn verlopen, ontvang je een aanbod van de opdrachtgever. Hierin worden de arbeidsvoorwaarden, salaris en overige afspraken vastgelegd.
