In collaboration with other departments, Site Engineering provides support to the production process, from the moment goods arrive to the packaging of animal vaccines ready for shipment. The projects we undertake range from designing and building new cleanrooms to upgrading and replacing process equipment, constructing state-of-the-art modular server rooms, establishing new packaging production lines, and managing large-scale energy transitions. The department comprises approximately 65 enthusiastic employees, including project managers, subject matter experts, engineers, construction managers, safety engineers, and commissioning and qualification specialists. Role PurposeUnder the supervision of the Single Point of Contact (SPOC), the Project Manager (PM) is responsible for implementing projects and studies that align with the business objectives of various departments. You will assist in leading or take the lead in project implementation activities, encompassing conceptual scoping, basis of design, detailed design, scheduling, estimating, cost budgeting and control, procurement, contract administration, construction management, safety supervision, qualification/validation, communication, management, and project closure.Reporting Structure: Hierarchically to the Lead Resources SE. Functionally to the Single Point of Contact (account manager) of the relevant investment projects. Key Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and demonstrate the leadership required to establish and maintain a high-performing group of technical professionals.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including plant operations, quality department, EHS, procurement, and IT.Manage and guide external partners, such as design firms and engineering partners, equipment suppliers, or contractor companies.Apply knowledge of capital project phases to plan and execute appropriate work during each phase.Identify opportunities for innovative improvements to enhance facility/equipment/controls design and construction to ensure operational excellence.Apply safety knowledge to establish an injury-free workplace and ensure safety during construction.Understand procurement practices and participate in equipment vendor selection and contract management to ensure compliance from selection through project closure.Conduct studies, apply our Capital Management Process, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methods, and provide consulting to ongoing projects and existing business operations.Apply knowledge of scientific and engineering principles, regulatory policies, engineering standards, and practices to optimize the design and construction of facilities. Your Profile Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical discipline (PE, MS, MBA, Ph.D., or another advanced degree is desirable).A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a high-tech engineering and/or construction field to manage capital investment projects.Experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment (GMP) is highly preferred.Goal-oriented with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget with the right quality that meets safety expectations.Ability and willingness to seek out and implement business improvements.Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Excellent analytical abilities and a solid foundation in engineering fundamentals.Strong oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch is highly preferred.
