GL Accountant

We are looking for a skilled and proactive GL Accountant to join our Finance Team. In this position, you will play a vital role in the daily financial operations of Collins Foods, overseeing and enhancing the financial administration for restaurants in the Netherlands and 16 in Germany, each with its own Profit & Loss (P&L). This dynamic role will allow you to leverage your financial expertise while working closely with a team of 15 colleagues in the Europe Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing and checking completeness and accuracy of general ledger administrations for legal entities with specific subledgers/cost centres for each restaurants.

Processing monthly payroll journals as received from external payroll administrator/HR.
Prepare and post amortization journals for prepaid expenses and journals for accruals.
Prepare cash reconciliation of cash sales for all NL / DE restaurants and investigate differences.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in support of periodic closing.
Compiling and creating various ad-hoc reports as required by other business departments.
Collaborating with restaurant management and other business departments such as AP, HR, operations to ensure complete and accurate accounting of transactions in balance sheet and profit and loss.

Supporting the finance manager during the periodic and year end closings and provide assistance to controllers with the annual statutory audit.
Contributing to various other financial accounting processes and activities.
Providing cover / support to other members of the team.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a financial professional who thrives in an international environment with a strong focus on growth and efficiency. You will not only handle operational financial activities but also think strategically, identifying opportunities to optimize workflows for greater productivity. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the food, retail, or FMCG sectors.
Strong knowledge of General GAAP and financial accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ERP accounting systems.
Fluent in English (Dutch and German language skills are a plus).
