For this particular assignment we are looking a student from the study technical business administration, logistics management or supply chain management.
Company information
We are part of DAF Purchasing; the purchasing department of DAF where Non-Production-related Goods are purchased. As a team we are responsible for purchasing all logistics services and improving the supply chain from suppliers to DAF.Function description
At this moment DAF Trucks does only arrange the transport for picking up the goods from suppliers that are inside the EU. Suppliers outside the EU have to arrange the transport from their goods to DAF by themselves. DAF wants to identify the risks and opportunities of picking up the goods at suppliers outside the EU.- Objective: Identify risks and opportunities to change from receiving goods of suppliers (DDP incoterm) to picking up the goods (FCA incoterm) from suppliers from outside EU.
- Sub-objective: What skills are necessary for our transport department if we decide to pick up from outside EU? (customs, export declarations, duties, etc.)
- Sub-objective: What should our strategy be for these transports? For example; is a logistic service provider necessary to secure flow to production.
- Sub-objective: Calculate financial impact for pick up in Turkey.
- Sub-objective: What is the best way to pick up from Turkey? Milk run? Direct pick-up?
Function Requirements
For this particular assignment we are looking a student from the study technical business administration, logistics management or supply chain management.Job conditions
