As Project Controller within AkzoNobel you will work in an international leading and fast changing environment. The Project Controller will be part of high-performance Finance Team that provides full insight into IM’s financial performance. You will report directly to the Head of Functional Control and work closely with different global stakeholders internally in the different geographical regions.

Within this role you will have full ownership of cost controlling for a wide range of high profile IM Projects. Amongst these projects are global ERP implementations, but also projects IM delivers for the different businesses and functions like CRM, Logistics and HR. You will be involved in the set-up and review of business cases and project budgets, track actual project costs and build reliable forecasts per project. You will do the monthly financial closing, analyses and reporting on these projects.

The ideal candidate has a Master degree in Business Economics ideally combined with a Post Master education (RA or RC) and at least 7 to 10 years of relevant working experience. Tasks & Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets and forecast together with all stakeholders for IM projects roadmap, being IM projects in itself but also business projects where IM takes on the delivery of projects, you report back on financial performance including targeted savings of the project;
• Support the development of mature project-management tooling, defining finance requirements and implement cycles to control the full roadmap on a 5-year outlook, yearly budget and quarterly forecast. You support in prioritizing the projects and bring insights on the stage-gate and percentage of completion of the projects;
• Perform month end closing activities in line with IFRS and additional internal accounting policies, assuring accurate and timely recognition of project costs together with the regional accounting centers, analyzing differences and translate these into risks and opportunities going forward;
• Contribute to the Global Functions control teams by supporting global transformations projects driven by Finance;
• Your role is based in Amsterdam but also requires you to travel to other locations;
• As such, this is an interesting role for an ambitious professional who sees it as an opportunity to become an all-round Finance professional within AkzoNobel. It also requires you to be an excellent communicator, able to work with people from different parts of the organization.

• Master’s degree in Business Economics or an equivalent analytical study ideally combined with a RC or RA degree;
• Around 7 years of working experience, preferably in IT controlling / Project controlling is a plus;
• Accurate, organized and disciplined in order to achieve high quality output and meet strict deadlines;
• Excellent Excel skills, able to reduce complex and/or large volumes of data to a readable high level information;
• SAP and HFM experience are an advantage;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including fluent written and spoken English.
