Loyens & Loeff’s practice is divided into two Clusters: the Tax Cluster and the Law Cluster. Within these Clusters, Expertise Groups are dedicated to developing and delivering specialised knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. The Law Cluster comprises six Expertise Groups:

Immovable Property
Banking & Finance
Dispute Resolution
Funds
Employment
The Group Coordinator is a new position at Loyens & Loeff and plays a key role in ensuring the Expertise Group runs efficiently. This includes managing daily operations and strategic projects. The Group Coordinator Law - will work closely with the Senior Group Coordinator, Expertise Group Lead and report to the Operations Manager Law. The position is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Your responsibilities as a Group Coordinator Law

As Group Coordinator, your main responsibility is to run an effective Expertise Group. You will handle daily operations and implement projects to improve the group's effectiveness. You actively seek ways to improve the Expertise Group’s efficiency.

You will advise the Senior Group Coordinator, Expertise Group Lead, the Operations Manager, and the Partners. You will translate the firm's strategy into actions for the Expertise Group and lead these efforts. You will work with Group Coordinators, Partners, Team Assistants, Associates, and colleagues from other departments as needed. You should have a clear understanding of the legal services the Expertise Group provides and be capable of working independently, effectively reducing the workload of the Expertise Group Lead and the Partners.

You will collaborate with Group Coordinators in our other Home Markets, (Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland) as well as other Expertise Groups, on processes, projects and strategies. You will also work closely with departments like Marketing Services, IT Support, Finance & Control, Commercial & Legal Excellence, Recruitment, Learning & Talent Development and Legal Risk & Compliance.

Key responsibilities include

Supporting the preparation of fee proposals and engagement letters;
Coordinating client billing processes;
Managing daily staffing and analysing the group's performance and workload;
Taking on a social and HR role within the group, such as organising social activities (or supporting Team Assistants with these);
Providing input on hiring, performance, and the professional development of Associates;
Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related questions from Associates;
Preparing and coordinating Partner meetings.

This vacancy suits you, because you

A minimum of two years of experience in a law firm or a similar professional environment is required;
You must have a perfect understanding of the Dutch and English language (both written and spoken); this is a mandatory requirement;
Previous experience in a similar professional role is required;
Have worked in international settings;
Have successfully led and managed team processes;
Can collaborate with colleagues from different departments and countries, creating a positive and inclusive work environment;
Have experience with commercial initiatives;
Can use data to create insightful reports;
Location Requirement: Applicants must be based in the Netherlands, preferably near Amsterdam.
