We're looking for an exciting Contract Specialist focusing on coordinating supply and demand of our Contractors to join our Contract Operations Teams. If you're passionate about making a difference in the field of contract labor, turnarounds, construction and maintenance services, keep reading!With your knowledge and skills, you'll be our main point of contact between Dow and Contractors managing supply & demand. You will work closely together with a broad variety of teams (e.g. Schedulers, Planners, Purchasing, Turnaround Team, Maintenance, Construction, EH&S, Partnered Suppliers etc.).Next to that, you will actively support Dow, and our Contract Labor partners' performance in areas of Safety, Sustainability, Digital, Innovation, and People.In this role you will coordinate and agree on the right supply and demand balance between Dow and their contractors. You are an excellent communicator and are able to collaborate in very dynamic teams and situations. Decision making is a transformational process, what means that listening and consulting are ingredients to be successful. You like to think and operate in opportunities and solutions for everybody involved. You preferably have a good understanding of how scheduling within the Global Project Methodology or Global Turnaround Methodology work processes. Coordinates data inputs from the various disciplines and functions to ensure accurate forecasts and reporting of schedule. Engages key stakeholders to understand causes of the deviation and the need to establish actions to mitigate, when deviations occur. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.About the teamContract operations develops and maintains processes that ensure an optimum supply of safe, sustainable, innovative, high quality and competitive contract labor services that enable Dow's business success. ResponsibilitiesSupplier Relationship Management: Invest in a sustainable relationship between Dow and our partnered Suppliers to collaborate for superior resultsTechnical Assessment: Collaborate with maintenance experts to assess the technical qualifications connected to availability for contracted services.Digital & Innovation: drive digitalization & innovation efforts in the field of contractor coordination (supply & demand).Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, continuously striving for better results.Contract Support: Collaborate with our Purchasing team in defining contract strategies & negotiations with the contract labor partners, especially on forecasting supply and demandCollaborates with schedulers on discipline knowledge exchange and quality application through technical coaching. Collaborates with schedulers on the management plans for project and/or turnarounds. Performs staffing density checks or staffing limitation checks to validate schedule durations and ensures resource-leveling supports the project strategy. Leads project teams in forecasting schedule challenges and offers analyses and solutions to complete the project on schedule. Utilizes project cost estimates to resource load project schedules to gain alignment with estimated scope. Works with cost management to gain alignment when forecasting schedule completion dates. Performs critical path analysis to determine problem areas regarding project schedule and resource overloads and offers alternative courses of action to the project team. Evaluates project deviations to assess schedule impact for proper decision making and recovery plans, all in coordination with the responsible planning teamContributes to improvement of Schedule Work Process and leveraging of learning experiences. Makes recommendations on cycle time reduction opportunities and techniques, as applied to scheduling. QualificationsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in maintenance, IT, commerce, trade, or a related field, combined with an interest in engineering.You have a good working knowledge of English.Preferred SkillsYou have a good working knowledge Dutch (Strong preference due to interactions with suppliers)Experience in Contract Management, Purchasing or Planning/Scheduling (Maintenance, Construction and/or Turnarounds)Benefits – What Dow offers you We invest in you.
