About the Challenge

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in Generative AI (GenAI) to join their Advanced Analytics team in Brussels. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing cutting-edge generative AI solutions to support data-driven decision-making across banking and finance functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in data science, a deep understanding of machine learning, and proven experience in building and deploying generative AI models that address complex business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Generative AI Development

: Design and deploy advanced AI models (e.g., transformers, GANs) to address critical areas like risk assessment, fraud detection, personalization, and process optimization.

Stakeholder Collaboration

: Work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable data science projects, simplifying technical insights for broader understanding.

Model Lifecycle Management:

Oversee AI projects from concept to production, including ideation, development, deployment, and continuous improvement.

Innovation:

Lead experimentation within the team, staying current with AI trends and identifying new use cases to enhance BNP Paribas’s capabilities.

Data Infrastructure:

Partner with Data Engineering to ensure scalable data pipelines and optimize model performance.

Leadership:

Mentor junior data scientists, lead technical reviews, and promote a culture of collaboration and best practices.

Your skills

Qualifications

Education

: Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

5+ years in data science, with at least 2 years in Generative AI.

Technical Skills:

Expertise in machine learning, generative models (e.g., GANs, transformers), Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Soft Skills

: Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities.

Languages

: English required; French or Dutch is a plus.
