Are you mechanically skilled and do you enjoy working in a dynamic environment in a role where you are involved in creating and maintaining technical documentation on a daily basis? Then we are looking for you within Kaak Dough Technology!

First, something about our organisation. Royal Kaak is a (more than) 175-year-old family business that is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of complete production lines and automations for the industrial bakery sector. Within the group, Kaak Dough Technology B.V. in Nieuwkuijk, the location for this vacancy, focuses on producing dough processing machines for industrial and medium-sized bakeries. With our 200 colleagues in Nieuwkuijk, we work on sales and service as well as complete development and production for standard machines and complete production lines.

About the position
The job involves creating user manuals for all machines and installations of Kaak Dough Technology B.V. in Nieuwkuijk. The documents are created in Adobe RoboHelp. Together with the other Technical Authors within Royal Kaak, you will ensure uniformity in the user manuals.

Are you capable and do you see it as a challenge to translate all necessary operations for use, maintenance and cleaning of the machines into clear and instructive texts and illustrations, for various user disciplines? Then this is probably a challenging role for you. Here, European legislation such as the Machinery Directive and CE regulations play an important role.

For your work, you can make use of various information sources and tools such as Microsoft Office, various Adobe programmes, 3D models, videos and photos, but also through consultation with constructors, project engineers and other specialists within Kaak Dough Technology such as mechanics, commissioners and test bakers. In addition, you provide parts lists with corresponding assembly drawings and collect documentation from other departments such as electrical diagrams, operating manuals and documentation of purchased machines within a project.

In this position, you also have a number of ancillary tasks:

• Preparing training documentation;
• According to the legal provisions on food contact materials, you organise occurring activities and draft food contact materials conformity declarations;
• You draft EC declarations;
• Provides support in standards management and technical files of machines;
• Printing drawing packages for the engineering/work preparation department;
• Taking photos and videos of machines and lines set up in Kaak Dough Technology’s premises.

Who are you?
We are looking for a proactive candidate with broad mechanical engineering knowledge in mechanical engineering and language-technical interest. In addition, good communication skills are important. You are meticulous, accurate and able to work systematically, and have a mbo+/hbo work/thought level in mechanical engineering. Mastering the Dutch language both orally and in writing is also important. Writing in German and English is an advantage.

• It is preferred if you have several years of experience working as a Technical Author!
