As part of our commitment to driving productivity improvements across the organization, the newly created CTO office is seeking a

Data Engineer
to design and manage cutting-edge data solutions. This is a unique opportunity to shape Zanders' data infrastructure in a newly created position, reporting directly to the CTO.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming how Zanders leverages data across its business, people, and support activities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data systems and processes that empower decision-making and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and Extend the Data Cube: Develop

and enhance Zanders' data cube, built in Microsoft Fabric, to serve as the foundation for reporting across operational, financial, HR, and marketing systems.

Build and Manage a Knowledge Graph

: Construct a knowledge graph that integrates data from the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem (e.g., via the MS Graph API) using Python, open-source database technologies, and natural language processing (NLP) where applicable.

Support Internal Applications:

Provide data transformations and insights for Zanders' internal applications and extensions, leveraging the data cube and knowledge graph.

Enhance Data Governance:

Implement and maintain data governance processes, including data quality reporting, and recommend improvements to ensure robust and compliant data practices.

Skills to be successful:

• Proven experience (2 to maximum 5 years) in working with

data engineering

, databases, and

ELT processes

using

Python

and

SQL

.

• Strong ability to work proactively with business stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated capability as a

self-starter

, comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.

• Familiarity with the

Microsoft ecosystem

, including

Power BI

,

Microsoft Fabric

, or

Azure

.

• Experience with

open-source database technologies

and knowledge graph tools.

• Interest or experience in applying

natural language processing (NLP)

techniques.
