Electronics Engineer- Zurich - Aerospace

Oxford's client is urgently seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer with experience in the Aerospace Industry to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

• Electrical design and development of mechanisms for space application, as well as for supporting equipment such as of EGSE, Unit Testers and its associated harness.
• Definition of requirement specification for space electronics in accordance with the upper-level requirements
• Shadow engineering and technical subcontractor management of electronics suppliers for the control of space mechanisms
• Preparation of technical project offers, discussion and negotiation with possible and/or future subcontractors / suppliers
• Review the electrical and EMC requirements of the VCDs and provide compliance matrix in close collaboration with System Engineers
• Planning and conducting / supporting of qualification and acceptance tests (I.e., functional tests, EMC Test campaigns and micro-vibration tests)
• Preparation, participation and leading of meetings i.e., for technical design reviews with suppliers and customer-chain
• Provide electrical input for potential NCs and participate to NRBs (e.g., root-cause analysis, investigations and provide suggested way forward)
• Provide English-written technical documentation e.g., EICD, WCA, PSA radiation analysis etc.
• EEE Parts engineering, i.e., preparation of declared component lists, parts approval documents
• Analysis of electrical circuits by means of dedicated software, including simulation at circuit and layout level.
• Design of schematics and PCBs by use of Altium Designer
• Develop firmware or software for electrical assemblies or automated test systems following specification and coding standards.

Profile:

• Bachelor, Master or University degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• At least 3 years' experience with hardware design: circuit design and simulation of the functionality using CAD and/or PCB layout generation tools
• Experience in Altium Designer, MATLAB, Simulink and LabView are a strong asset.
• Experience in planning and executing functional performance tests and EMC Test Campaigns (CE, CS, RE, RS and ESD), including documenting and analyzing the tests results
• Proven experience in writing technical documentation
• Technical understanding of space quality standards (ECSS / MIL) and EEE components
• Experience in microelectronics, programming of microprocessors and FPGAs is nice to have
• Used to work in lab environment/clean rooms
• Advanced and proven level of English; German is an advantage
• Dynamic, proactive person, able to manage different projects in parallel is a strong asset
