Job description
As Educational Programme Manager, you will be tasked with redesigning the master programme as well as developing new master programmes, in cooperation with all relevant stakeholders within IHS and with partner institutions. You will also be tasked with the daily operations of the programme. You will have the opportunity to learn from the current educational programme manager. In addition, you will have room to develop your own teaching and research portfolio, in consultation with your team leader and the academic director. It is expected that this space will become bigger in the next years two years once the revamped programme has been implemented.

Requirements
We seek candidates with a background in academic teaching and research concerning (one of) the main themes of IHS: urban planning and management, urban sustainability, housing, land use, infrastructure and smart cities, and urban economic development. You do not need to have knowledge of all these fields, but we expect you to have an academic track record related to at least one of them. Knowledge of social science research methods (either quantitative or qualitative, or both) is strongly appreciated. You are expected to have managerial and communicative skills, and that you can anticipate and plan routine operations. Preferably, you have some prior experience with the design of accredited courses or educational programmes.

This position holds an end-responsibility for the accredited UMD programme (together with the Academic Director). A PhD is therefore required. You should have a Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs (BKO) or willing to obtain one upon commencing in this position.

We offer a challenging job in an international and dynamic work environment. The salary is in accordance with the responsibilities of the job and is subject to training and experience. For full-time employment the minimum gross monthly salary is € 4.629 and maximum € 5.943, based on 40 working hours per week and on a salary scale of 12 of the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO NU). IHS has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8.0%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 30 annual vacation days in case of a full work week.

The position is available in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, starting for a period of 1 year, with possible extension of employment, to be decided by the employer. Starting date is as soon as possible after completing the procedure.

The candidate must be in possession of a Dutch residence permit or be an EU citizen.
