Bosch - Eindhoven - 26-07-2023 Naar vacature

Work #LikeABosch and join us in creating the future
Our semiconductors support the transformation of mobility: Bosch develops and manufactures MEMS sensors, integrated circuits, and power semiconductors for mobility applications, as well as MEMS sensors for consumer electronics.

In the Netherlands, Bosch is stepping up its development activities around integrated circuits, with a strong focus on “System-on-chip” (SoC). SoC is a key technology for modern control units, used in driver assistance systems for instance. With the purchase of ItoM ((Semiconductor Ideas to the Market) in 2022, Bosch has acquired a high-frequency SoC’s expertise. On July 1, 2024, the ItoM entities merged with Bosch, creating the Bosch Semiconductor Engineering department, with two development locations in Eindhoven and Enschede, to further shape the mobility of the future together!

"Our team in the Netherlands consists of highly trained and experienced design engineers developing ASICs for international customers. With comprehensive know-how, this team plays a decisive role in the field of integrated circuit development. To meet the growing demand for advanced semiconductors, we are constantly looking for highly qualified and motivated experts willing to take the next step with us."

Edwin Veldman, Director Engineering Integrated Circuits Netherlands, responsible for the semiconductor engineering business unit at Bosch in the Netherlands.

Working at Eindhoven and Enschede

When joining Bosch in Eindhoven and Enschede, you can expect to be working with mixed-signal integrated circuit and system design specialists. We have an innovation track record focusing on RF transceivers and timing solutions. In addition to these design capabilities, we offer verified system IP blocks. These include breakthrough ultra-low power IP blocks that enable the next generations of IoT RF transceivers. They are complemented by a comprehensive portfolio of adaptive signal processing technologies.

From intern to innovator: for Kees van Nieuwburg, development has no boundaries

Kees van Nieuwburg's entry into the semiconductor industry was a stroke of luck, initiated by a friend's proposal to do an internship together at ItoM. Despite having no prior experience in the semiconductor industry, Kees was thrilled at the prospect of working for a company on the cutting edge of technological innovation. While interning at ItoM, he found IC design to be both challenging and captivating. His eagerness to learn led to a job offer once he completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2005.

Since then, Kees has worked his way up to his current position of Group Lead. He now has technical responsibilities and leads a team of mixed disciplines including verification experts, digital designers, and mixed signal engineers.

Kees has worn many hats throughout his career, demonstrating his versatility and capability to adapt to new challenges. He particularly values the diverse range of projects, which provides him with ample opportunities to keep expanding his knowledge and fueling his passion for technical subjects. Regardless of the role he takes on, Kees' primary concern is meeting market needs and ensuring that his work makes a valuable contribution.

“The aspect of my job that brings me the most reward is developing solutions that have a positive impact on our daily lives. It's exciting to think that our collective ideas could potentially be integrated into billions of products.”

The field of semiconductor development is dynamic and future oriented. In Kees’ view, there is always something to learn. Bosch provides its associates the room to learn and grow in their job. With extensive guidance and support from colleagues and supervisors, associates are always encouraged to take risks, learn from failure, and drive meaningful change.

Just as Kees has learnt to change, grow, and create – so can you! Development knows no boundaries at Bosch. If you're looking for a challenging and a rewarding career, we invite you to join our team and see what you can accomplish.
